Kotor Walking Tour Montenegro
Kotor Old Town Walking Tour
The Kotor Old Town in Montenegro is like Dubrovnik for Croatia. Small historical place packed with tourists, more than it can handle. The only coastal road through the city gets blocked by cars before you can even enter. No, where to park. On top of that, there comes the ocean-cruizer already seen in Dubrovnik 3-days ago, bringing even more people.
It looks like everything is free.
To enter the Old Town, you have to pay for the ticket. But you wait in line. The line is not different from the crowd. It is sunny, hot, and crowded.
The main attraction in the city is the fortress on top of the hill. The only way up there is countless stairs. Bring water. You can buy water on the way, but the price of the same flask rises the higher you go. No, not a dream goes up with the altitude. From the top is a spectacular view of Old Kotor Bay.
Be careful what you wish for when you reach the top. At that time, I did not know the wishes may come true. So I have to climb the stairs again. The third time's the charm. I guess.
If you are a first-time traveler to Kotor, get a local guide. It will save you all the hustle and bustle.
